A specialist SEN school in Merton is looking to appoint a passionate and creative SEN Art Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school caters for students with Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, speech & language needs and associated behavioural difficulties across KS3 and KS4.

This role is ideal for an Art Teacher with SEN experience or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into specialist education.

SEN Art Teacher – Role Overview

Deliver engaging and differentiated Art lessons across KS3–KS4
Support students with ASD, SEMH and complex additional needs
Manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches
Adapt lessons to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
Work closely with SEN TAs, therapists and pastoral teams
Create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
Encourage creativity, confidence and emotional expression through Art

The Ideal Candidate

QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Art within SEN, PRU, AP or mainstream settings
Strong behaviour management skills
Experience supporting ASD, SEMH, ADHD or behavioural needs desirable
Calm, resilient and adaptable approach
Passionate about inclusive education and therapeutic practice
